Welcome to Image to Text (OCR) Software, a powerful tool that converts printed, handwritten, or digital images into editable and searchable text. With support for multiple languages and image formats, this software helps you digitize documents, extract text from photos, and streamline your workflow.
1. Viewer Background
The Viewer Background feature allows you to customize the appearance of the area surrounding your displayed images. This enhances viewing comfort, reduces eye strain, and provides a personalized user experience.
To adjust the Viewer Background:
- Go to View > Viewer Background menu
- Select your preferred color (Transparent, Black, White).
2. Left-Mouse Button Mode
The Image Viewer provides an intuitive way to view, manipulate, and interact with images. One of its essential features is the Left-Mouse Button Mode, which determines how the left mouse button behaves during image interaction:
- Pan Mode (Hand Tool): Click and drag to move (pan) the image around the viewport.
- Area Selection Mode: Click and drag to select a region of the image.
- Go to View > Left-Mouse Button Mode menu
- Select your preferred mode (Area Selection, Pan)
3. Rotate
The Rotate feature allows you to correct the orientation of scanned documents or images before performing OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Proper alignment of text ensures more accurate recognition results and prevents errors caused by tilted or upside-down pages.
Accessing the Rotate Function:
- Go to Rotate menu
- Choose the desired rotation method.
Rotation Options:
-
Rotate -90° (Counterclockwise): Rotates the page 90 degrees to the left.
-
Rotate +90° (Clockwise): Rotates the page 90 degrees to the right.
-
Rotate +180°: Turns the page upside-down.
-
Custom Angle Rotation: Allows you to specify a custom angle (e.g., 1°–359°) to correct tilted or skewed documents.
4. Image Enhancement
The Image Enhancement features allow users to improve the visual quality of images directly within the application. users can enhance images for clearer viewing, better detail recognition.
4.1 Remove Punch Holes
The Remove Punch Holes feature allows users to automatically detect and eliminate punch hole marks (commonly found on scanned documents) from images. This tool is especially useful when preparing digitized documents for archiving, text recognition (OCR).
The following example is of the Remove Punch Holes function in use:

4.2 Erase Black Borders
The Erase Black Borders feature allows you to automatically detect and remove unwanted black margins surrounding an image. This is especially useful for scanned documents, screenshots, or images with padding that reduces the clarity of the displayed content.
The following example is of the Erase Black Borders function in use:
![]() |

4.3 Automatic Deskew
The Automatic Deskew feature corrects images that are tilted or misaligned during scanning, photographing, or importing. Deskewing automatically detects the skew angle and straightens the image for optimal readability and presentation.
This feature is especially useful for scanned documents, receipts, books, forms, and photographs where the content may appear slightly rotated.
The following example is of the Automatic Deskew function in use:

4.4 Binarization
Binarization is a preprocessing step in OCR that converts a grayscale or color image into a black-and-white (binary) image. This process enhances text clarity by separating foreground text (black) from the background (white), making it easier for OCR engines to recognize characters accurately.
This feature is particularly useful for documents with noise, uneven lighting, or faded text.
Purpose of Binarization:
-
Improve OCR recognition accuracy.
-
Remove unnecessary background patterns, colors, or shades.
-
Highlight text areas for cleaner character segmentation.
-
Standardize input images for consistent recognition results.
The following example is of the Sauvola Binarization method function in use:

5. Recognition Mode
The Recognition Mode allows you to control how text recognition is performed on scanned images or documents. Depending on your needs, you can apply OCR to the entire page or to a selected portion (area) of the image. This flexibility ensures greater accuracy, saves processing time, and helps you focus on the exact text you need to extract.
There are two available recognition modes:
1. Page Mode
OCR is applied to the entire page.
All visible text within the scanned image will be processed and converted into editable or searchable text.
Recommended for documents where all the text is relevant and needs to be captured (e.g., reports, contracts, or scanned articles).
2. Area Mode
OCR is applied only to a selected region of the image.
The user manually defines a rectangular area on the page where text should be recognized.
Useful when only a small section of the page is needed, such as a paragraph, table, or label.
Reduces unnecessary recognition of irrelevant parts of the image.
For Area Mode, users must change Left-Mouse Button Mode to Area Selection
And use your mouse or touchpad to draw a rectangular selection around the desired text region.
6. OCR Language
When choosing a language, you can select from different quality options — Fast, Standard, and Best — which offer a trade-off between processing speed and accuracy.
You can also use second language at once for documents containing more than one language (optional).
Our OCR software handles 125 languages across diverse
scripts, including:
- Latin scripts:
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese
- Asian scripts:
Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese
- Indic scripts:
Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi
- Middle Eastern scripts: Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Urdu
- Slavic languages:
Russian, Polish, Czech, Serbian, Bulgarian
- African languages:
Swahili, Amharic, Afrikaans
7. Text Editor
The Text Editor is a built-in feature of the OCR Recognition software that allows users to review, edit, and format text after it has been extracted from scanned documents or images. This ensures that any recognition errors can be corrected and the final text can be exported in the desired format.
Features and Functions:
